What is A Revision Rhinoplasty?
A revision rhinoplasty is a procedure that corrects any issues caused by a rhinoplasty. A revision rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure designed to repair both the form and function of a nose that has previously been operated on.
Benefits of Revision Rhinoplasty

- Reshaping the nose
- Correcting nostrils
- Improving breathing
- Restoring the nasal bone area

What Do I Need to Do Before Revision Rhinoplasty?
Prior to having revision rhinoplasty, it is important to schedule a consultation with your plastic surgeon to discuss what you don’t like about your rhinoplasty results. Together you and your surgeon can discuss ideal results. During your consultation you will get a detailed list of instructions before your surgery to ensure you are fully prepared.
What Should I Expect on The Day of My Revision Rhinoplasty?
Revision rhinoplasties are often outpatient procedures. During the procedure, incisions are made inside the nose or within the crease to make the incision invisible. The skin is lifted, and the corrections and reshaping are done. Once complete, the skin is placed in its original position, and the incisions are sewn up.
How Long Does It Take to Perform Revision Rhinoplasty?
Most revision rhinoplasty procedures take two to three hours to complete, depending on the amount of work to be done. Once complete, you are taken to a recovery area where you come out of your anesthesia. You can go home with the person who accompanied you to your procedure.
What to Expect After Revision Rhinoplasty
The recovery process from revision rhinoplasty takes several weeks to complete depending on the extent of the procedure. During the first week, the nose is packed and splinted to allow the initial healing to take place. It is important to avoid sneezing, if possible, and any other direct impact on the nose. Ice packs can be used to relieve discomfort.
Once the packing and stitches are removed, patients may return to light activities and work; however, strenuous activities including exercise and heavy lifting should be avoided for several weeks. The full recovery from revision rhinoplasty takes several weeks.
Will I Have Scars After Getting Revision Rhinoplasty?
The incisions are made so that they heal quickly with minimal scarring. Additionally, they are placed in inconspicuous places, such as inside the nose or along the creases, where they are not visible.
When Will I See the Results from Revision Rhinoplasty?
While you will notice a difference immediately, the full results from revision rhinoplasty take a few weeks or months to fully become visible as swelling and bruising subside.
How Long Will the Results of Revision Rhinoplasty Last?
The results from revision rhinoplasty are permanent; however, if a patient becomes dissatisfied with their results, further revision surgeries are possible. We encourage patients to discuss their goals and expectations thoroughly with their surgeon so that no additional procedures are necessary.
How Much Does a Revision Rhinoplasty Cost in Los Angeles?
The cost of revision rhinoplasty varies with each patient based on the reason for the procedure, its extent and whether it is done in combination with other facial surgery procedures. During your consultation, we will discuss the costs with you as well as our payment and financing options. Rejuva Medical Aesthetics accepts cash, personal checks, and major credit cards, and offers financing through CareCredit® and Lending USA. If the procedure is done for reasons that are medically necessary, such as to correct breathing issues or repair the nose due to trauma, insurance may provide coverage to offset the cost.
